Dearborn Schools Get a Financial Boost

A donation of $10,000 to the Dearborn Public Schools Education Foundation will go a long way for a school district experiencing deep employee cuts this year.  The gift came December 3rd, courtesy of Dearborn-based DFCU Financial, Michigan’s largest credit union. The Foundation will use that money to purchase school items not covered by the annual DPS budget.

This is the sixth consecutive year that DFCU has made a $10,000 donation to the Foundation. DFCU CEO Mark Shobe understands the value of public education.  “I believe education is the key to success in any community,” said Mr. Shobe. “If Dearborn is healthy, we’re better off. (The donation) meets a strong need in the community.”
