VOLUNTEER

vol·un·teer /ˌ [vol-uhn-teer] a person who voluntarily offers himself or herself for a service or undertaking

“It is considered to be serving the society through one's own interests, personal skills or learning, which in return produces a feeling of self-worth and respect, instead of money. Volunteering is also famous for skill development, socialization and fun. It is also intended to make contacts for possible employment or for a variety of other reasons.” Wikipedia

There are many ways one can volunteer to help support the work of DPSEF. Here are some of the examples:

  • Give of your time to serve on a committee
  • Provide your talent to help in the work of DPSEF
  • Extend your knowledge and professional experience
  • Introduce DPSEF to those in your network through a lunch n’ learn or conversation over coffee
  • Connect DPSEF to businesses and individuals who have resources that can support DPSEF’s mission

Each year DPSEF works to identify the one volunteer through its many student, professional, parent, residents, employees, etc. During the annual Exhibit & Recognition event the announcement of the Volunteer of the Year is made. This year our Volunteer of the Year is a wonderful parent of our district who always found time to help DPSEF with their communication demands. Working diligently to promote and convey to the community the importance of being a supporter of DPSEF. Helping to always recruit others to help in the mission of the DPSEF and the important role is has to serve our district and the community at large.
