Our Chairman
STAYING FOCUSED!
We are entering a new school year with renewed energy. To keep our momentum we need everyone in the community to do their part. We owe it to our teachers and especially to our children. My message for the new school year is simple: "To do nothing is unacceptable."
Our Executive Director along with the Board of Directors are working over the summer doing everything possible to make sure that our organization remains strong in the years to come. Here are a couple of the great things they are working on:
- The Dearborn Education Foundation has partnered with the district to help produce an alumni newsletter. It’s called Alumni Connect. It is being mailed to over 15,000 alumni. The newsletter provides information about changes in our district, the impact the Foundation is having in our schools and most importantly it captures the stories of our alumni and how they have chosen to Make A Difference in our schools.
- We also have a new event coming up in the fall. On September 29, 2010 at the Michael Berry Career Center we will be holding an Exhibit and Recognition Event. The goal is to share with our stakeholders first hand the financial impact the Dearborn Education Foundation has made in our schools. It is also our mission to share with everyone the areas in the district that need our attention. It’s free to those who RSVP on line or through our central office before our deadline of September 21st.
I am excited about working with all of you. I look forward to hearing more great stories from our donors and sharing stories of volunteerism and community support with you. Have a wonderful summer break and I hope you will do your part to help the Dearborn Education Foundation help our teachers in 2010-2011.
Sincerely,
Brian Mosallam, Chairman
